Sci port is only $2 for each person if you go on the 1st Tuesday of every month between 10 and 12 am! That does not include the I-max theater but you can still do all the normal activities and can stay all day!
We are so lucky to have Sci-Port in our community. It was recently a pick for one of the best science museums in the country by Parent's Magazine. It's the only one of it's kind in the state...and region (I believe).
Membership is only $100. It's very affordable and membership includes discounts on birthday parties, IMAX movies and more. I recommend Sci-Port memberships for all families looking for affordable fun for the whole family. Where else can you go besides the library when it's raining to learn and play?
Let's do the math...
$100 (family of 4). If you go once a month (12 visits) for an entire year, you're paying $2 per person for each visit or $8 for the entire family (the cost of ONE movie ticket).
Free movies screening every Tuesday & Wednesday at 10:00am all summer at Regal Cinema - Louisiana Boardwalk

My 3 year old son has seen the Disney On Ice Disneyland Adventure billboards for weeks now and has been asking me to take him to "see Mickey Mouse"! We just recently went to Disney World where we had an amazing trip. The saying is true that memories of a lifetime are made at Walt Disney World. So after seeing the advertisements, I am eager to take my son to see Disney On Ice here at the CenturyTel so we can relive that magical experience again.
I can honestly say that Disneyland Adventures is one of the best shows I've seen. My son sat in amazement throughout the entire show. It was packed full of all the favorite Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Buzz Lightyear, Baloo, Disney Princesses Snow White and Cinderella, and the Incredibles. The plot of the show features the Incredibles (the Parr family) on a trip to the Magic Kingdom. Of course, they have a hard time keeping a low profile, and evil eventually turns up, requiring them to gear up in their super suits and save the day. You'll see your favorite Magic Kingdom rides such as the teacups, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and "It's a Small World".
Not only will your kids love this show but you will enjoy it too! You will have the opportunity to relive all the memories you had at Walt Disney World as a child. You'll also enjoy the skating, choreography and stunning costumes!
My son is still talking about "Mickey Mouse" and when we can go see him again! It is worth every penny for the tickets to see my son's eyes light up throughout the entire show. It was definitely a memory neither he nor I will ever forget.
Norton's Art Gallery Azaela's are in full bloom. i took my daughter there yesterday. She loved the garderns, especially the water features and the pond. It's a great place to take "snap-it-yourself" Easter pictures.
Plus, the gallery has an amzaing collection of fancy dolls and there's a children's room. Admission is free.
Kid City is a new enclosed playground at Shreveport Community Church. It's a huge 2-story indoor play area with a coffee shop for parents with TVs, WiFi Internet and more. You can easily watch the kids play while visiting with other moms.
It's open from 6am-9pm, 7 days wk. The best part - it's FREE to play. I should mention the child safety and security is awesome.
They also have a party room available for birthdays with Wii's, air hockey and games for $100 rental fee (with indoor play space). Movie theatre rental is available for an additional fee.
I am terrible w/directions...call kids city direct at 683.1149.
My son recently has his birthday party at Critter & Co pet store in Bossier City (off Benton Rd). It was such a great ideas. We got to choose 5 friendly animals to learn about and pet with our guests, including Monty the 10 ft. snake. They have a wonderful party room in the back and provide staff and clean-up.
It's a wonderful place for boy (and girls too) birthday parties!
Tiny Town is a wonderful and free place to take kids for indoor play. It has a 2-story indoor play area. According to their website...
Hours for free play time:
The Right to Play, boundless playground at A.C. Steere Park, 4009 Youree Drive, will hold a work day Sat., Dec. 6 at 9:00am. Volunteers are needed to assist with completing flower beds and building the donor wall.
Put on your work clothes and bring the kids to help out. Have fun spending time together while teaching them to give back to Shreveport-Bossier by example.

We love Gymboree's summer class pass. You can go to as many classes as you want for one price ($75). It's inside so a great place for kiddos to play and get out energy during the hot months.
LSUS offers a week long soccer camp every summer with coach Radi Balov. He is terrific and my kids just love it. We do it every summer.
He also offers a private camp but it is more expensive. We recommend the LSUS one.
