Shreveport's Downtown Rotary Club presents it's 2nd annual dragon boat race fundraiser. The event will take place on the Shreveport side of the river. Dragon boat racing originated in Asia. Boats are similar to canoes, and a crew is made up of 24 paddlers and a drummer to keep pace.
The club's inaugural race in 2009 drew dozens of teams from throughout Louisiana and raised over $20,000 that was donated to the Caddo Parish School Board for technology needs.
Health and Safety Fair:
During the health and safety fair families will be able to learn about water safety, healthy food choices, study skills, internet safety, dental care, and pet care.
Touch A Truck:
The Touch-A-Truck will give kids the chance to see a police car, ambulance, fire truck, motorcycle, and a helicopter up close.
Bike Rodeo:
Throughout the day Safety Town Deputies will be having bike rodeos where children will learn about bicycle safety.

Sci-Port staff will be on the Windham Family Rooftop Terrace to guide visitors on an out-of-this-world celestial journey.
