Presented locally by KSLA StormTracker 12
Tornado Alley is an explosive adventure that takes viewers on an epic chase through the "severe weather capital of the world," following missions to encounter one of Earth's most awe-inspiring events - the birth of a tornado. Whirling above the human drama are the storms themselves, magnificent forces of nature revealed in breathtaking detail through the magic of the giant screen.
Presented locally by Ridgway's/ARC
Narrated by Academy-Award winner Morgan Freeman, Born to be Wild documents orphaned orangutans and elephants and the extraordinary people who rescue and raise them-saving endangered species one life at a time. This film transports moviegoers into the lush rainforests of Borneo with world-renowned primatologist Dr. Birute Mary Galdikas, and across the rugged Kenyan savannah with celebrated elephant authority Dame Daphne M. Sheldrick, as they and their teams rescue, rehabilitate and return these incredible animals back to the wild.
BODIES REVEALED exposes the secrets of the human body in unprecedented detail normally reserved for medical professionals. Visitors of all ages can look deep inside the carefully preserved specimens, learn about human anatomy and see the effects that disease and unhealthy lifestyles have on the body. The Exhibition, presented by Premier Exhibitions, the Atlanta-based provider of major museum quality touring exhibitions including Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition and Dialog in the Dark, will be on display at Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center through May 2012.
BODIES REVEALED, located inside Sci-Port, takes visitors through a series of galleries providing an up-close look inside the skeletal, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, circulatory and other systems of the human body. Many of the full-body specimens are dissected in vivid athletic poses, allowing visitors to relate to everyday activities. In addition, a multitude of organs are displayed to illustrate the damage that can result from over-eating, lack of exercise and smoking, and provides comparisons more powerful than any textbook could illustrate.
The human body specimens in the Exhibition are preserved through a revolutionary technique called polymer preservation. In this process, human tissue is permanently preserved using liquid silicone rubber that is treated and hardened. The end result is a rubberized specimen, preserved to the cellular level, showcasing the complexity of the body's many bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels and organs. The full-body specimens can take more than a year to prepare.
This IMAX adventure transports moviegoers to some of the most exotic and isolated undersea locations on Earth, including Southern Australia, New Guinea and others in the Indo-Pacific region, allowing them to experience face-to-face encounters with some of the most mysterious and stunning creatures of the sea. It offers a uniquely inspirational and entertaining way to explore the beauty and natural wonder of the oceans, as well as the impact of global climate change.
Features 100 original paintings from the Plein-Air Painters of America created on site at 35 parks throughout the country. This nearly decade-by-decade documentation of our national parks established from 1872 to 2002 affirms the continuing desire of the American people to protect unique geographic and geological wonders as national parks, preserves, recreation areas, monuments, seashores, parkways, rivers and historical sites

Love and jealousy have no boundaries in this intense adaptation by Director, Author and Playwright Peter Brook. This Tony Award-winning adaptation of Georges Bizet's most popular opera Carmen is a shorter, much more dramatic version of the original. Carmen, the passionate gypsy girl, hounded by the card of death; José, the inexperienced soldier confused by love and loyalty; and Escamillo, the stunning bullfighter, all unleash a deadly spectacle of sound and passion.
Sung in French with English dialogue and English translation projected above the stage.
These fun-filled clinics are every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each Month.

Southfield School is located in the South Highlands neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana. The eight-acre campus houses a preschool through 8th grade independent, non-profit school. Large trees, azalea lined walkways, and a rose garden all add to the charm of this site, first acquired by the School in 1936. In 2002, the campus began a major renovation project, including the construction of a new, 2-story middle school facility. The first phase of construction was completed in August of 2003. The second phase of construction, adding a state-of-the art Performing Arts Theater, was completed in August 2005.

Shreveport's First United Methodist Church and Centenary Choir to premier new work by Shreveport native James Eakin
On February 12, 2012, at 4 pm in the Sanctuary, the Chamber Choir of Shreveport's First United Methodist will join forces with the Centenary College Choir to premier Flowers Over the Graves of War by James Eakin.
This is the first of two performances that comprise the world premier of the work, the second taking place at Carnegie Hall in New York later in February. Combining the words of traditional Latin Requiem Mass with new poetry by Michael Dennis Browne, Eakin creates a stirring vision and prayer for peace through his music. James was a member of the youth and music programs at First United Methodist and is also an alum of the Centenary Choir, creating a truly unique and personal connection for this performance.
The work will be accompanied by full orchestra and is free and open to the public.
