All in One Website Offered for Parents

New parents can learn tips on everything from how to get the whitest diapers to area restaurants that serve meals free to children. A local mother has worked for the last year to put together a Web site so that this, and other information can be obtained with a click of a mouse.
Out of frustration in not knowing what was available and where to go for childcare, support groups, baby equipment, and other things, brand new mother Allison Cate decided to try to create a source to help.
"I probably spent anywhere from five to 10 hours a week researching all of this stuff," Cate said. "Between work, diapering, playtime, preparing meals and cleaning, who has this kind of time?" Cate said it was then that a light-bulb went off and SBFamilies.com was born.
"The purpose of the site is to make life easier for families," she said, "and SBFamilies.com centralizes local resources allowing parents to go to one place, anytime, to find what they need."
What started out as a simple idea to centralize resources in her hometown has grown into a business that combines her work experience, her education and now her hands on experience as a mom.
The site has a specific location allowing parents to advertise their children's used toys, clothes and other items as well as another place designed to permit moms and dads the opportunity to share tips and ideas that will make parents lives easier.
"The link for parent-to-parent issues has been very useful," she said. "This lets parents put things in their own words."
Cate said the site will soon have Travel With Kids, ParentClick Articles, Children's Book Reviews, Recipe Club and ParentClick Blogs.
"Parents are busy," she said. "I know there are other mothers looking for things to do with their families. I have an older sister who has always been helpful to me in finding child care and other resources, but what about the parent who might not have an older sister, hopefully this site will help find the things they are looking for."
