Activities & Family Fun

Spending time as a family is important. Pick a different activity each week and take advantage of all the great things we have available in our community. If you want to get a great overview of all there is to do, check out the Events Calendar and Family Resources section.

Spend time in nature at one of our Nature Centers & Gardens or our many Parks . Take a nature walk or visit the petting zoo at Cypress Black Bayou State Park. Cool off in the fountains or ride bikes along the riverfront. Introduce your children to one of our museums and study science, art or history.

Link to the current showtimes or buy season tickets to the theatre. There are some fun plays for kids offered throughout the year. Dates will be on the event calendar. For quieter days, storytime at the libraries or bookstores can be fun.
