The current movement to "Go Green" can be very overwhelming. I, like many of you, want to do everything within my power to preserve the planet for future generations. However, it's just not practical or affordable for my family to go 100% green. With curbside recycling starting this fall in Shreveport, and I don't think Bossier will be far behind, I am starting there - with recycling.

I urge you to take a step towards "Going Green" anyway you can manage, even the smallest "Green" step can leave a large footprint.

SAVE THE EARTH PARADE & BOOK SWAP

Sunday, April 20th

Sci-port Discovery Center 

Celebrate our greatest natural resource - the Earth  - for Earth Day. We'll honor Mother Nature with a parade, a book swap and other fun activities. It's free to participate and you'll receive $4 off general admission to Sci-Port Discovery Areas.

Book Swap: 1-6p.m. Recycle by bringing books your kids no longer read and swap it out for "new-to-them" books.  

Parade: 3:00p.m. Theme: SAVE THE EARTH

Decorate yourself, a wagon, baby stroller or wheelchair however you wish to express your favorite things in nature or ideas to SAVE THE EARTH.

Judges will award prizes in the following categories:Best Float, Best Costume, Best Use of Materials for Float, Best use of Materials for Costume.
